Get started! Send me an email to kick things off - talk about your situation. See tips on How to Write Your Coaching Query below. I will usually reply within 48 - 72 hours. We'll explore the problem, ask powerful questions, set exercises, provide motivation, positive energy and focus. You will gain valuable insights and motivation as a result. In my response you will get: Acknowledgement of your question and/or situation A series of powerful questions to clarify the situation, or other ways to raise awareness about you and your situation Alternate ways of looking at the situation if applicable Some models and tools to help you work through particular issues or questions Options for you to consider for moving forward I may provide you with attachments relative to your situation or question. These may include resources such as ebooks, worksheets, articles, or websites. While I am committed to giving you as much information and resources as possible I will not tell you what action to take, or solve your situation for you. It is your job to use the information to help you to make your own decisions and put your own actions in place. If you need more information or support to be comfortable making a choice or taking action, you can continue with another email coaching session, or if more appropriate, move to a telephone or Skype coaching session. Of course, you may also choose to move on to and get coaching for your next goal! How to write your Coaching by email Query Read through these guidelines before writing and submitting your coaching question. I reserve the right to come back to you to request additional information. I may reject some of your questions if you don’t follow the guidelines. For email coaching, it’s important that you get the balance of information right so I can help and support you. To do this keep your Coaching by email Query to one major topic or issue. Then give as much information about where you’re at with this issue and what specific goals, progress or performance you’re trying to achieve. For example: What is your specific goal you’re trying to achieve? What have you already done to achieve it? What’s working for you and what hasn’t been successful yet? What specific questions do you have about moving forward with your goal? What obstacles do you feel you need help with? Any other information relative to your goal or issue? If there is more than one major topic or issue in your email, I may choose to respond to one issue, and I will make that determination based on the first item you identify, or by the area that seems to be the most urgent or important. To avoid me having to make such decisions, please keep your query to one topic. What to Avoid To be effective, there are a few things I would like to ask you to avoid doing: Please do not ask what you “should” do, as I will not answer this question. I do not give advice on your situation and I will not instruct you on what course of action to take. Together though we will explore what you “could” do, and review the considerations you need to make to implement your own choices, plans and actions. If working with a counsellor, psychologist, psychiatrist, doctor, financial planer, lawyer or other specialised professional is more appropriate, then seek their services as nevintaylor.com is not a replacement for proper care which could be provided by these other professionals. Please do not use discriminatory, disrespectful, vulgar or other inappropriate language in describing your situation or anyone who is part of your situation. This is not a helpful way of communicating and I may reject your query. E-mail Coaching Caution E-mail coaching has many benefits but it also has some shortcomings. Rapport is more difficult to generate as it generally relies on "reflective exercises". These exercises invite you to think deeply about yourself and issues in your life. If you are not a reflective sort of person then this is not going to work for you. If you prefer writing three words rather than being more descriptive this is probably not for you. If you don't like thinking and talking about yourself, this is not for you. However, these things indicate that you probably have self-limiting beliefs and that coaching really could help you but Skype or phone coaching is the better option.
